Maggie had spent her life jumping through hoops to please people, excepting nothing less that perfection while at all expense, keeping the past concealed. Maggie’s anxiety had exploded into debilitating panic attacks, that she resentfully referred to as moments which were growing in strength and numbers. The pull up her boot straps, put on her big girl panties and move on tactics had worked until now, or had they? The haunting question of why can’t I be normal like everyone else was deafening. One thing was for sure, if help didn’t come soon, this run-away train was about to come off the tracks dragging her with it. Would she be able to hang on or was derailing in her imminent future? If the moments were not tormenting enough, Miss Finch her colleague, seemed to know exactly when and how to trigger Maggie’s anxiety. Not to mention, the guy at the gym that didn’t seem to care about the fact that it was not his personal office space. Years of attempting to hang on had left her exhausted, angry, bitter, and with very little patience. How much longer could she keep up this sunshine façade before the volcano of emotions erupted? With a new school year approaching time was of the essence because there was no way she could live through another school year like the last. With every tick of the clock hand; more of her was shattering. Something had to give or she was going to break. “Wisdom will add years to your life and will only profit if you embrace it.” Proverbs 9:11-12
